I’ve watched the last episode last night and I have a mixed reaction about this project. I think it was great in terms of direction ( Lulu work) and very poor written. Nicole was Ok, but not oustanding I ‘ve liked the last episode. But it pains me that She wasted so much time on this project. I would have preferred it to be at Saltburn for example. I think Nic should manage better his mix between Tv and movies. I don't understand why he doesn't get to work with great directors. Her commitment to female directors is appreciated but she is a legend. Where is Scorcese, Spielberg, Haynes, An Lee, Nolan etc.?

I see where you're coming from, miniseries is taking up alot of her time and perhaps is affecting her availability. But she's had this issue for a while now, she hasn't worked with a big director in ages, as much as I want to believe its th her s schedule, but she goes out of her way to make time for an interesting role. I think these big directors just prefer Blanchett. There is no room for kidman and that's why nicole has forged her own path. If kidman didn't have blossom her career would have screeched to a grinding halt. It is blossom that gave her career an extended life line at various points, But I agree she needs to balance her miniseries and film work better and we've got four films coming so let's see.

For sure, that seems to be the case, if Nicole is still interested and invested in her movie career, then maybe she should move to Europe and work with the french, the italians, the european directors, I'm sure that that will revamp her career or stay in Australia and worked there for a while, promoting the australian film industry and with, Campion, Nolan, Jackson, Noyce and Luhrmann.. convinced them or motivating to work with her in exciting projects. I truly think that that many tv projects are killing her movies options... it is a bit disappointing!

I'm happy that she did Expats over Saltuburn, for example, a mediocre film lol
Nolan Scorsese there are not female roles in ther movies lol I'm fine with Nicole not working with these names, but yes, I want more movies and european directors suits her much better.
And she is a producer, a lot of these shows get traction and money with her in it, there is this aspect as well.

Nolan and Scorcese are too matcho to have any meaningful roles for women in their movies. I think kidman can improve her film / mini series ratio and I'm very glad she did expats.

same.
this one is a keeper, not a firework.
years later it'll still be mentioned.
the energy of it won't be dissipated in wind in just one award season.
so many one season hit awards player film, like Saltburn, better than 9PS S1 a bit for sure, but still valueless.
agree that she needa pick her mini-series project more carefully, but I let go of my film-only-attachment on her.
films are not that noble than other audio-visual language art forms anymore.
if there're only films like Brooklyn or Nightmare Alley to do, I'd rather she makes some money for her family or do a show like Expats.

I'm visiting the very same spot Gus went missing next week. So I just wanna say, thank you, it's been a pleasure to know you all. My fellow Kidmaniacs.
If I don't go missing, I'll be dancing to Heart of Glass in Cheung Sing Restaurant (which actually closes at 6:30pm in real life according to Google Maps. How did they sneak in??).

You know, I just got out of a 13+ year old relationship only a few weeks ago. I was 22 when I met him. I'm 35 now. My partner said he doesn't love me anymore. He had thought about it for a year, but he didn't share that process with me. So it was a complete shock to me.
I flew to Hong Kong by myself, which was supposed to be a couple's trip. I wandered around the streets, feeling empty and grieving for my remaining life I honestly thought I would have with him until my dying day. (I have to add, Hong Kong was a very kind place for a Korean gay man. Everybody was so, so nice to me. I just wasn't ready to feel good about anything.) I visited the night market the last day.
Here I was. Standing in the very same spot where Gus went missing. I stood there for quite a while. Nothing happened. I didn't feel more or less painful than I already did. I wish I could find an answer. But no, there's no easy answer in life as there's none in the show. (I know losing a child is completely different from a losing a partner. But please excuse me, I'm still in pain.)
It was on the plane back home where I completely broke down. I was a wreck. He has changed. I haven't. There's nothing I could do about it.
I also miss my cat. He got the custody.
