they still campaigning, with Corden.. linkStreep is their safest bets at the GG’s. And the movie could sneak in Best Musical / Comedy in a lacklustre year. Any other idea is just a waste of money for them. Although, the GG’s do love Nicole and they might just double nominate her this year.

So guys, i just finished watching the prom today. let me start by saying that whether i like it or not, i cannot deny the importance of the message the movie's trying to transmit. As for the execution, the very first question that came to my mind was why the palette and the visual are so ugly?! i was really shocked 😳😳 At some point it felt that the prom is that makes you feel good movie, but sometimes it takes this a little too far. the dialog sounds like a teenage Disney movie in some scenes, high school musical 😒🤦🏻♂️. some songs are fine, like zazz which is the most memorable, the whole love your neighbor stuck into my head also. sadly, it was a bit too much, during some scenes i was like nooo, they're going to sing now😂. The movie is lengthy and some characters are not really fleshed out, just like Kerry Washington character, that's why i felt that the movie lacked maturity. we haven't seen anything from her during the whole movie except her rigidity and intolerance, than suddenly she changed at the end. it would have been way better if the character had an arc that led her to this transition (exploring more her relationship with her daughter, getting vibes from her that she's gay cz we all know when a mom has a gay daughter/son she can feels it). As for Nicole, she was fine, actually as a fan i would say the best part of the movie but sadly she's way too underused while corden's character is over explored and not in a positive way. a lot of his scenes felt forced, a predictable performance. Well, Meryl was typically fine also, so does the rest of the cast. overall it's not a bad movie (6/10) but it could have been way better. the most reprehensible thing about it is the length, forgettable songs and the visuals. It definitely doesn't rank among trespass, grace of Monaco or even the like of genius, railway man because it's funny and more watchable but i admit it would have been better if Nicole was invested in something else from November to March... i mean she was involved in really good and fine projects over the last years like big little lies (season 1),the undoing (which I haven't seen it yet but it's a big success with audience and a fine one with critics) lion, bombshell, the killing of a sacred deer, destroyer, the beguiled...

Glad you agree with everyone here and the rest of the world - the movie's a 6/10.
But good news - The Undoing is a strong 7 if not higher:) So best to forget about The Prom and begin the Undoing.
