In honour of Being the Riccardos, i thought we should rank Nicole's movies in which she's had leading roles after her last big success (Oscar nominated Rabbit Hole).
There are more roles than i thought there'd been! And with all the shows it's like she's had a leading role each year since RH, which is amazing!
1. Destroyer 7/10 2. The Family Fang 6.5/10 3. Before I Go To Sleep 6/10 4. Queen of the Desert 5.5/10 5. Grace of Monaco 5/10 6. Hemingway and Gellhorn 4/10 7. Strangerland 3/10 8. Trespass 2/10
I know, my scores are not great. Here's hoping BTR ends up as an 8/10 at least.
What are you guys' ranking?

The ranking is for Nicole's performance or for the films quality?

Oh my god... I only enjoyed her performance in Destroyer and in Strangerland from that list. I truly found her embarrassingly bad in Grace of Monaco and QotD.

her worst parts in QUeen of the desert were the ones where she was acting like she is in her teens/early twenties and that is not her fault, I dont know what Herzog was thinking, perhaps he wanted to get across she was an old soul. lol.
but minus those scenes she is pretty good once she leaves england and starts her middleeast trip.

I had such high hope with that projector. Cast. Director. Story. The biography Herzog based the movie on was really fascinating.

The ranking is for Nicole's performance or for the films quality? Sorry for not being clearer - the movies themselves was what I had in mind. But ranking the performances is also cool!

Just kind of inconclusive and skimmish. It's funny how a screenplay like that with very little conflict or drama gets greenlit nowadays.

Agreed! Quite bizarre given that she was around 50 at the time. I thought maybe they just didn't have the budget for another actress.

Oh my god... I only enjoyed her performance in Destroyer and in Strangerland from that list. I truly found her embarrassingly bad in Grace of Monaco and QotD. I too found her really bad in GOM. She made little to no effort to play Grace Kelly. Didn't sound like her, didn't walk like her, didn't talk like her, in addition to not really looking like her. I'm hoping she's learned her lesson with BTR, and will actually walk and talk like Lucile Ball.

Same to me, in GOM e Queen she is just decent. Yeah, she was fine in Queen. The script just didn't give her much to work with. But she looked beautiful and had some magnetic moments. It's a small star turn.

Queen of the Desert 6/10 7. Grace of Monaco 3/10 Love this list! Mine is just slightly different. 1. Destroyer 9/10 (she did great and would have been nominated if the movie was a bit stronger) 2. Before I Go to Sleep 7.5/10 (I thought she single-handedly made the movie watchable) 3. Queen of the Desert 7/10 (she looked beautiful and it's a small star turn) 4. Hemingway and Gellhorn 6/10 (very Lauren Bacall) 5. The Family Fang 5/10 (just cute, not much else going on) 6. Strangerland 4/10 (wasn't a fan of this movie so can't be objective) 7. Grace of Monaco 3/10 (there was no effort)

Just kind of mediocre, a missed opportunity. Franco was a bad and the script is bad/underwritten. Everything else is great!
