I'm sorry but there's no way in hell she wasn't offered something better. The fact that she let the Fennell project go but said yes to this... gurl, bye. It isn't even her Dirty Grandpa, she's playing a mother role in Netflix D-list trash. If you want a break, take a break, but this being her first film role after 17 months and an Oscar nom is beyond sad. Plus, I know no one works for free but she can afford to do something that's less well-paid, she's not struggling to pay rent.

Very underwhelmed with this project. Nicole holds a lot of power and can even finance her own projects, so many books and novels she auction, like with rabbit hole. Maybe she feels that she needs time off to support Urban's career, something very legit... maybe she is not as ambitious with her career as she used to be... who knows, but I sense a dangerous curve... too many tv series, less movies, again... She can make it happen if she really wants it!

Not feeling optimistic about this but I hope it will be well received and become a hit.
The screenwriter of this rom-com is the one writing the Ocean's 11 movie of Margot Robbie. Soooo, in exchange for taking a role in this rom-com, I would love it if this is indicative of (or will result in) Nicole taking part in Margot's movie as well --- would love to see Nicole in a heist movie (set in the 60s, I believe).

Come on guys cheer up, she hasn't done a comedy rom com in ages, sometimes its better to change things up, this year is one of fun and enjoyment.
Shes had two back to back success and worked painstakingly on the Expats.
So she just wants to chill and do something light hearted.
She could play a Mrs Robinson type character and seduce Zac Efron, the writer has done some decent work.

Oh dear... Not good. But that's our Nicole, she is in some random $$$$it every now and then. I'm sure we will have a proper role soon.
I real liked Joey King in the act with Patricia Arquette.. Zac Efron though 🤦

it's a bit Déjà vu with 2000's.
after Moulin Rouge! & The Others & The Hours & Cold Mountain are all hit, she started to seek Roberts/Bullock's place.
pls don't tell me this is that kinda thing again..
but on the other hand, this made me think of the rumor "she & Jesse Eisenberg're doing the The Graduate remake". remember?
I think I'm optimism than you guys.

I always wanted kidman to do a graduate esque role, efron has limited ability though can they recast. Hmmm

Hopefully they make her character look like this We know Kidman and Efron have chemistry as evidenced in The Paperboy.

The thing is she's not doing a romcom. She's the mom in a romcom. Doing a romcom is fine; doing a supporting mother role in a romcom that stars Zac Efron and Joey King is what's sad.

Dear Woody Allen, one of the greatest writer of female romantic comedy ever existed. Can you call this woman for your next movie set in Paris please? Maybe we could have a sort of French Exist. With the fur and hysterical breakdowns...thanks.

All that we know is she is playing a mother, and the mother sounds central to the plot. So I wouldn't presume this to be a thankless supporting mother role. She wouldn't have signed up if the role didn't appeal to her personally.

"a surprising romance kicks off comic consequences for a young woman, her mother and her movie star boss as they face the complications of love, sex, and identity"
Could the surprising romance be Kidman-Efron? "Complications of love sex and identity" Could she be playing a lesbian mom. Haha c'mon throw us a bone here!

Surely Kidman is Efron's love interest, no? That's how I read it. Otherwise it's not an idea for a movie. Yes, even a Netflix movie.
