I need a moment to think about this...maybe a whole year.

Speaking of choices, in the end she was right to refuse Emerald Fennell, it was yet another role of the 10-minute mother. It wasn't a role a la Promising Young Woman. Come on Nicole now please us by announcing an author and we will enjoy this series.😆

These kind of characters marks an actress forever...one day when I say Nicole Kidman, the last muse of Stanley Kubrick, people will say 'Oh, Key Scarpetta!'. I would love she goes through the Jessica Fletcher phase in her 80 years old... Not now.

Very sad days😔 The lined up projects are very very underwhelming to say the least. This story sounds so dull, besides, I’m not a big fan of JLC.
I wish she would take a long break rather than being involved in poor quality projects.

Not existed about this, but I'm very excited about her career choices, yes i would have loved a small indie film announcement, or any film for that matter, but she is doing one in 2 weeks. This year alone we could potentially see her in 6 projects... 6!!! Lol multiple TV shows, animation musical, a blockbuster superhero, a film with Zac Efron 🤦 and another Australia but extended 😂. It doesn't get any better!!! Completely crazy, unpredictable and exciting. Kidman will give us the film we want, i know she will, she does it every now and then. Just enjoy the ride and wish for the best❤️

I hope her teaming up with blum house on this project means we get a horror film collaboration down the line, im still waiting.

I'm totally ignorant about this series of novels, who knows them could you tell me something more? 🥹 So. I have read may be 6 or 7 of the books. There are about 24 of them. TWENTY FOUR. The author churns out one every year. You can well imagine the literary quality. The protagonist is a smart, extremely savvy, almost 'The Mentalist' level, forensic pathologist who solves crimes. She and her team (Pete Marino, Benton Wesley, and her niece, Lucy) track the odd connections between several horrific crimes and the people who are the likely suspects. Kay is hard shelled and dedicated; but she also exhibits a fierce love for her complex family and odd associates. Kay eventually marries her teammate Benton Wesley, a former FBI agent.

as I am not familiar with this kind of literature, I looked into this kay scarpetta series, and actually as a premise it doesn't sound too bad: lots of trauma (dad died of leukemia before her eyes, some boyfriends killed etc.), a gay and nerdy niece who holds Kay as her female role model, disfunctional Italian family.
It's all over the place as you can expect from the pulp fiction series ("Later in the series her niece is diagnosed with a benign brain tumor that alters her physical appearance and seems also to modify her personality. She also gets into a firefight between two helicopters, using handheld firearms" – WHAT?!), but certainly there should be enough material for a talented (talented!) screenwriter to produce something not only entertaining but of certain quality. The fact that the showrunner is involved with Barry, which is simply great, is giving me a bit more confidence.

Now he knows his dark comedy!

Kidman is a very hard actress to put into a box, she absolutely refuses to be pigeon holed and this series is an example. Im sure we'll get an exciting film announcement to match all these weird TV forays. Personally I want to hear more about that "Palace of the Drowned " film set in Venice.

Thank you so much! Worst-case scenario could the series be a little hit like Only Murders in the Building?

This is something very serious. It's the first time she sign for a TV show. She only did limited series, with the exception of BLL2 but it was never scheduled. They have a lot of material, this is created with the idea to be a hit and go on with a lot of season. 2 season of 8 episodes means more of a year on the set. She will not have any energy to do something else. I say six months for each season...and she is one of the producers. We are in a new territory and the material is... what it is...

Let us see what happens, but BLL went for two seasons each season had seven episodes.
