Zoe was on Jimmy's show and of course his date with Kidman was brought up again. LOL and Kidman herself was engaged to her father only some years before that happened.

Ok, I just watched the first episode.
I thought it was good, not great. A lot of exposition is dumped in the episode (not surprisingly) which made it confusing at times. If I hadn't read the book first, I would have had a hard time keeping all of the characters/relationships straight.
I thought the cast was terrific. Everyone was great with Laura Dern getting my nod for MVP. Witherspoon has the flashiest role so far and she was great. Once Kidman's story gets going, she will be fantastic I'm sure. Speaking of Kidman, she is absolutely gorgeous. Her, Skarsgard, and the twins are a beautiful family.
Finally, the show is lovely to look at. Beautiful scenery and beautiful cinematography.
I can't wait to see the rest of the show.

Absolutely loved the first episode. I thought it belonged to Reese Witherspoon & Laura Dern, through and through. The writing is top notch. The editing is fantastic. And as expected, the cinematography is breath-taking. It's a perfect prologue to what's to come. There's a lot of buzz around it: twitter.com/i/moments/833506686719496192

LOVED the first episode! I'm so happy and excited for this show!
Every actress was amazing, but I was surprised by Reese only because I really previously did NOT like her (especially after the whole DUI/I'm famous thing, which always rubbed me the wrong way) but I love her character, very funny.
Just having a show with some of my favorite actresses...Kidman; Dern and Woodley... it makes me so happy! And I can tell Nicole is going to be even more amazing later on!

The best acted scene in the episode was Celeste/Nicole looking on as Perry read a story to the boys. She conveys so much with no dialogue.

Completely agree, Kidman is just something else. haven't read the book, I enjoyed the first episode and could keep track of things. The show sets a mood and all the characters are bursting with life. If it gets better from here they're on a TV sure fire winner. Oh and this is the closest Kidman has looked to Gillian Owens since forever.

My favourite was when Jane was saying how she could be in a new place and feel like she didn't belong. Nicole's reactions (knowing what happens later on) were just note perfect.

I enjoyed the first episode, though I did think it was a little slow. Knowing what comes later though, I'm definitely hooked and excited for what's to come. But I was a bit surprised at how much screentime Reese had compared to the others. I know Nicole's character's story will develop and become more interesting over time but I hope she's in more of the remaining episodes.

I think they should air the first two episodes together. for me, the part.1 is a little bit of unable to understand what the BLL is all about. it's just me? or ..

I finally watched the pilot. I really liked it but I have to agree with amber that it was quite messy at some parts, precisely at the primary school with all the characters.
Really looking forward to next Sunday and yesterday's ratings.

I thought the first half moved slow but then most miniseries do, since there's a lot of character exposition. The last twenty minutes flew by though and I was ready for episode 2.
