just loved seeing this, especially since its personally from Kidman acknowledging Sandra Bullock and Practical Magic!
speaking of which I had just rewatched the film almost a week back. I would really love to see Sandra and Nicole work together again someday, they have such great chemistry, which simply cant be manufactured.
Practical Magic has some stunning imagery, there are some of my faves
I saw that. On FB i get notifications when Nicole posts, saves me from missing any. I thought it was wonderful of Nicole to give the film a shout out and Sandra. I agree with Mr Deadlock on this, it's been mentioned before and i am one who champions the idea, Nicole and Sandra need to team up. Their chemistry was so natural and every single time i watch Practical Magic i think come on ladies! Round two please. A sequel or a fresh film!
Practical Magic i love to watch this time of year. It's just superb!
Vulture have ranked practical magic in their top 15 best witch movies of all time! It's comes in at 7.
Do you ever stop and think about how lucky humankind is that a movie exists in which Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman play eccentric, modern-day sister witches? Well, thank the Goddess for Practical Magic. Widowed mother Sally (Bullock) is reserved but powerful; Gillian (Kidman) is an irresistible free spirit. After killing Gillian’s abusive boyfriend Jimmy — who is also a serial killer because sure, why not? — the women flee to the sleepy Massachusetts town where they grew up. A handsome law enforcement officer (Aidan Quinn) soon shows up their doorstep, and so does Jimmy’s vengeful spirit. Bonus: Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest steal scenes as Sally and Gillian’s goofy, blender-enchanting aunts!
Vulture have an indepth interview with the director of practical magic Griffin Dunne.
He has interesting stories to share about production.
He's also commented about how the film has grown in stature over the years and has become part of pop culture.
When did you notice that movie’s reputation was changing?
When my daughter was in her late teens, I started to notice that her friends loved the movie and quoted the movie and would freak out when they found out that her father directed the movie. I watched it grow and grow and it’s been very touching and unexpected. I’ve gone out with women who have watched this movie every year with their daughters. It’s a lovely kind of surprise.
