Thanks gitv, hope you guys enjoy the list, and yes I hope it ends up being a great homage to our Kidman. Also agreed, the actors are great so even filler episodes are worthwhile.

I think it's one of best about relationship between a group of women and a man in film history.

I actually adore original movie and Geraldine Page, and for me remake just didn't work. But after this praise I'd better give it another try this weekend, without looking back at the original.

And her we go with 19 19: Ada Monroe, Cold Mountain. 54% of users selected this performance as a favorite of theirs, with high enough scores to assure Ada Monroe’s place as part of the Board’s Kidman’s top 20 at 19. The film was released during the Christmas period 2003 heading into 2004 so it’s been almost 16 years. Interesting that we have two very different takes on Southern Belle performances back to back in the top 20. Attachments:

I placed it at 18, so I'm happy it made the cut, I still love this performance, and maybe I should've ranked it higher, but it was hard with the amazing work Nicole has been giving to us all these years

I personally loved the film when it came out, and it aged really well when I watched few times years later, but I didn't love that performance, I always thought she can do more. She looked stunning though 😍. I'm loving this thread! Can't wait for the next one!

I 100% agree with you Paperboy. I think Cold Mountain is a beautiful film. She looked stunning and fragile but I do remember being bothered by the restraint. Her chemistry with Jude Law and Renée Zellweger though was outstanding.

To me cold mountain feels very mythical , and Kidman's presence was suitably ethreal in the film. Was she drowned out by law and Zellwegger probably but she gave a very dignified performance.
It's too bad about that cringe worthy sex scene in the film, it was a little too over the top and tasteless, lol.
And ofcourse that one time got her pregnant straight away

Thank you very much, Mr Dedlock, for doing this! What a great idea to be unveiling the top 20 day by day! Also, I love that you are including the previous ranking every time it gets updated.

I actually thought her performance in Cold Mountain was appropriate - very genteel, sheltered. Renee's performance was a over-the-top, but she had the best lines in the movie.

I didn't quite place it in my top 20, and that's only because I rated other performances higher. The quality is here none the less. Looking forward to the rest of the countdown!

I actually thought her performance in Cold Mountain was appropriate - very genteel, sheltered. Renee's performance was a over-the-top, but she had the best lines in the movie. Renee was supposed to be over the top. It was a throwback to the Golden Age war epics; the supporting actresses were always like that. The problem was that the film half wanted to be an homage to those old films and half wanted to be a more modern, realistic take. Obviously Nicole fell into the latter (although her elaborate makeup ruined what she was trying to do...)

Next up........ 18: Catherine Parker, Strangerland (2015) Colour me surprised (if a little shocked), I did not expect this out of left field performance to break into the top 20 barrier. Selected by a little over half of the respondents, however, the performance resonated enough to land higher scores to propel it into the top 20. I’m actually quite happy this managed to be recognized even though I failed to include it in my list. Strangerland was released four years ago in 2015, it was picked up by millennium entertainment offshoot alchemy and was released during a difficult period in Kidman’s career coming off consecutive flops and one catastrophic humiliating disaster. However, I'd like to think that this performance kick started her renaissance GOLDEN ERA which started in late 2015 at the west end. Attachments:
