Hello!
Now that the GG's are over, I was wondering what are your top picks for film and TV in 2020.
You can do a top five of each or just name one, it's totally up to you!
When it comes to TV, I loved these shows:
1. Devs - Hulu 2. Rached (I know many hated it, but flaws and all it was entertaining af) 3. Little Fires Everywhere (loved Witherspoon in this!) 4. The Undoing (Nic's best leading project in a while. I again herd two people at the gym talking about it! It really resonated with people!)
When it comes to movies, the year was super lame and I barely liked anything, but these movies were watchable.
1. Promising Young Woman 2. I Care A Lot 3. Emma 4. Onward 5. Boys in the Band 6. Run 7. On the Rocks 8. Uncle Frank 9. Birds of Prey (very entertaining and I love a bit of Robbie!) 10. Freaky
Pretty much hated everything else, or was like Meh.
Beyoncé's Black is King actually left the biggest impression on me alongside Hamilton.
What about all of you?

Oh this is a fun thread!
Shows: - S2 of Ramy was a lot of fun and went in a lot of weird places. - Mrs. America was a fun watch imo, even though a lot of other people didn't like it - Little Fires Everywhere wasn't my favorite in hindsight, but I was very invested in the story - McMillions: Really fun docu-miniseries that was a nice beginning to the lockdown. - Tiger King: Was beaten to death, but still a really engaging story.
Movies - I'm Thinking of Ending Things: LOVED this. Possibly my favorite of the year (but I haven't seen Nomadland, BoP, Sound of Metal, etc yet) - Shiva Baby: SO fun. Managed to get a screen through my school and had a fantastic time watching. So excited for everyone to see it! - Tigertail: Super underrated Netflix release imo (got released in March). Beautiful story and gorgeous cinematogoraphy. If you guys like understated quiet dramas, this one's perfect. - Tenet: Nothing in this movie makes sense but I was thoroughly entertained just looking at it. - Crip Camp: Great docuemntary.

Sound of Metal is my personal winner, as well as Riz Ahmed & Paul Raci's performances in their respective categories.
I loved Promising Young Woman despite its flaws. The Father devastated me. Mank wasn't a masterpice I was expecting but I still enjoyed it. One Night in Miami was very well-acted. Happiest Season was a fun holiday watch.
I think that's about it for the movies...? Haven't seen Nomadland or Minari yet.

Agree on Mank - definitely not great or even one of Fincher's best, but still enjoyable! Nomadland and Minari are very boring to me personally - they're good films, but they just have zero entertainment value. I hope you like them though!

How could I forget about The Great. I loved, loved, loved that show. Fanning is a goddess, and I would do all kinds of nasty (sexually) things to Hoult in character. Lol I need to check out The Assistant. Thriller right? Try Run with Paulson - the best thriller I've seen last year.
