Pawlikowski would be amazing. Didn't she hand him the Oscar for Ida? Would be so cool, if he ever makes an English speaking movie. I would love to see Nicole working with Pawlikowski but he is soooo anti-Hollywood. He's polish just as I am. My friend was working with him both on Ida and Cold War as production designer assistant. He have absolutely no desire to work in US but he did some wonderful movies in UK years ago. He's sort of responsible for Emily Blunt "shining" moment - My Summer of Love. Good to know! Thanks for sharing:)

Hi All, As you may have noticed, I really enjoyed posting on here, and I love to read your opinions! This time, I'd love to know what directors would you like Nicole to work with in the upcoming years? Personally, I would pay good money to see her star in European movies! For me, Nicole's work with Von Trier, Daldry and Amenabar was some of her best work. And even last year, you could tell that she and Bier really connected. So here's my European list: 1. Pedro Almovodar
2. Paolo Sorentino
3. Roman Polanski
4. Mike Leigh or Ken Loach
5. Michael Haneke
Honorable mentions: Paul Verhoeven (Elle was soo good),
And in America, I'd probably have to go with this bunch: 1. Martin Scorsese 2. David Fincher 3. Wes Anderson (OMG, pleaeeeeeeeease, even Paltrow worked with this guy; why doesn't he hire Nicole?) 4. Joel and Ethan Cohen 5. Ang Lee Some honorable mentions: Spielberg (West Side Story looks amazing, but I haven't loved his films since Tintin ten years ago), Woody Allen (probably too old at this point), Tim Burton (his quality has kind of gone to shit with Alice and after, with the exception of Frankenweenie), Paul Thomas Anderson (a bit hit and miss for me, but still loved Phantom Thread and Boogie Nights). I know this is technically 10 but I couldn't resist lol And you? Who would you pick? She almost worked with Wes Anderson. She turned down the female lead role in The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. Then Cate Blanchett replaced her. I would love Nicole in an Anderson movie, even in a small role.

I agree, such sensational, astounding options. All these names are making me wistful and hopeful and greedy.
My personal wishlist would be:
1) Denis Villeneuve 2) Luca Guadagnino 3) Ang Lee 4) Chloé Zhao 5) Steve McQueen

I think we can cut off these names from the list
Allen - too old and he is probably going to direct other few small movies before to quit. What a pity. He directed everybody in Hollywood gave to them their best performances of their career...I heard he is doing another 'match point' set in France, but I don't think he will call another a list actress anymore (thank you Mrs Winslet)
Haneke - we get that he is not interested at all to our Nic. And he is old as hell, so...
Tarantino - no ways he will write another movie with a female character of the age or beauty of Nicole...
I think is very likely she will work with Spielberg, Anderson and a lot of director you put on your lists one day or another... I have this crazy feeling Polanski could happen... I know he is old but he could appreciated what Nicole said about working with him. I hope so...

I see Spielberg and Anderson after a second Oscar winning.

I want to add that, after seeing The Father, it would be perfection to see Nicole in a Florian Zeller movie. Maybe the adaptation of his piece, The Mother, originally starring Isabelle Huppert. www.nytimes.com/2019/03/11/theater/review-the-mother-isabelle-huppert.htmlAfter all, despite having the opportunity, in his adaptations he is not recalling the original actors, for The Father he chose Hopkins rather than Langella, and for The Son he is still opting for an all-star cast. Nicole might be a sensible choice for The Mother.
