I just rewatched this and was surprised how much NK was in it - down to claiming the very last shot of the movie.
I actually watched some of Carlton's own interviews, and realized Kidman actually did a great job portraying Carlton's on-air persona.
Kidman wasn't exactly Oscar nod worthy like Theron or Robbie, but if she had two or three more big scenes, she probably could have been.
But on the whole, the movie is just not very creative and it looks ugly - like a dreary office party you want to ditch to go to a better one.
And it's more like a TV movie than a creative piece of cinema. So I would give it about 6.9/10.
I'm curious - what does everyone else here think?

Big thumbs down. Only Theron deserved an Oscar nod for that. Robbie's nomination was nonsense. Between this one and OUTIH I don't know why she received so much attention that year (doubled nominated to bafta... Really?) Nicole basically does not nothing. And prosthetics on her nose and chin were just useless. Script was really bad. Compared to The Morning Show, for example, Bombshell is meaningless.

I thought robbie was pitch perfect and did the best she could with a nothing rol. The twirling scene alone was *the* best scene for the me too movement. She nailed it.

I actually really liked kidman here, theron didn't impress me much I thought she was more mimicry rather than actually feeling the role. Robbie was good but I needed more depth from her, her closeted lesbian storyline was just an afterthought.
Overall movie was a mess but Charlize sold it for everything it was worth.

Good movie, not perfect. All three ladies did fine. Maybe only Charlize should have gotten the Oscar nomination. I’m kind of sick of this Oscar and poor Kidman talk if I’m honest, yes a woman of her talents does deserve a few more nominations under her belt, but she’s not slumming it being an iconic winner and historic winner (Australian) herself and 4 time nominee. I don’t think Margot Robbie was that worthy but still good.
I’m glad Kidman made this movie. In a world where men still want to pit women against each other (even some fans online today, cough Twitter mainly) Nicole supported Charlize in this on and off screen. Says and shows a lot about Kidman’s character.

Hated it lol What a waste of cast, it felt like it was shot in a garage. No one deserves any recognition in my opinion, Nicole was wasted, u casting an Oscar winner and not even a single long dialogue scene?! Theron was over the top. What a disappointment.
