I thought Sigourney weaver would be getting it. yes, that "Sigourney, Glenn, Nicole" poll are quite suitable to the choice system of the award. I'm shocked too that our girl got recognized first in her gen and even passed Sig and Glenn, like Streep did it before Fonda and Andrews. such an hornor. I'm literally crying this morning.

I know such a big boost after losing the Oscar. An AFI is just on another level, she has cemented her legacy amongst her peers.

Omg I woke up to the the AFI news, my jaw dropped. This is such a big one and to be honest I didn't think would happen. Omg I've been having a great week and things just keep looking better. Here I was yesterday whining about her losing the Oscar to Jessica Chastain and now we have a legendary AFI award. She got it even before her ex husband! Just look at the names of previous recipients. I'm dancing, her body of work is so thoroughly deserving. Ahah I was thinking about that Mr Dedlock eheh well the second Oscar will come, sooner or later, I really believe that it will come! Congrats Nicole for this amazing and soooooo deserving recognition!

Thinking about the montage they could clip together. Gosh.
From Stoker's 'Personally speaking I can't wait for life to tear you apart' to Birth's close up scene at the opera. From Virginia Woolf's 'I'm DYING in this town' to Celeste's wistful look into the distance, sitting next to the fire. 'The no-touch orgasm' scene from Paperboy to Satine descending down on a trapeze. From Lucille stepping into the grapes to Bewitched's nose-wiggle.
Y'all. We come to Nicole Kidman for magic.

I'm hoping we get Dogville, Destroyer diner scene, 2 die for, the beguiled, even the northman. They are spoilt for choice.

I don't think they will struggle combining clips.. what an extraordinary list ... She did it all. So happy for her. Well deserved.

i'm wondering who will be her host, it usually seems to be an industry veteran of high esteem.
I noticed Meryl streep hosted twice for others, Dustin Hoffman would also be an interesting host. From recent people she worked with mayve Aaron Sorkin?
Steven Spielberg she did Cannes with? other could also include Jane Campion, I noticed that Kidman started following jamie lee curtis recently, so maybe her. Denzel Washington would be a dream.
people I dont want are Reese witherspoon, Charlize and other peers, she needs somebody really special.

people who she worked with (several times) right?
Colin Farrell would be a safe yet satisfied choice.
Laura Dern is my lowest expectation.
Baz and Aaron are OK, not dreamy.
Meryl can give us a good show though, even at least 50% of it'll be about Meryl.
Colin Firth is a big NO. and there're Alex Skarsgård, Daniel Craig, Jude Law.
I really want someone like Glenn Close or Lars Von Trier or Joaquin Phoenix happens, but it's a longshot..
also, she did films with Anthony Hopkins, Sean Penn, Michael Keaton, John Malkovich, Christopher Walken. just saying..

I bet it's going to be Hugh Jackman or Baz Luhrman as the host. (Directors like Scorcese/Spielberg/Spike Lee have presented in the past).
All Life Achievement Award ceremonies have been televised on major TV networks and cable channels: CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, USA, TV Land, TNT and TBS. (Most recent, was on TNT).
