Well it does sound interesting. Like a True Detective season or something Michael Mann would make. Plot even gives me some Kathryn Bigelow Point Break vibes. Remains to be seen if the writers and Kusama can live up to what sounds like an ambitious original thriller, but it seems a worthwhile risk. Nobody makes these type of serious thrillers with female protagonists anymore. Even the bankable actresses in the "thriller" type genre like Theron or Johansson do mostly comic-booky type action thrillers (Lucy, Atomic Blonde etc). Destroyer sounds a lot more real.

I get the feeling, possibly like She Came To Me may be, that this will end up being stuck in pre-production infinitely...

I think she came to me is still on as Rebecca has been working on a documentary about her father. But i am so excited about Destroyer. Who do you think should play the leader of the gang? Jeff Bridges? Javier Bardem? Sean Penn?

Some speculative filming dates, one of the writers says they'll start "making" the film this fall!
So I'm assuming Kidman will start filming this thriller sometime this November.

Wow.... she's really putting the work in. Thought she might take a break after Boy Erased and Destroyer might start lensing in 2018. I'm feeling like there's a good chance we'll be hearing an announcement soon that Photograph 51 will be having a Broadway run in the spring of 2018.

It probably Won't take long to film probably three weeks like "the Beguiled" on a miniscule budget (us$ 7.5 million).
Perhaps Hugh Jackman's recent on set visit was Kidman asking him for a favour to star alongside her.
Regarding Kidman keeping busy, I wouldn't want it any other way. Flop or not.

Really hope it's not another 'Trespass'. It feels like a mood genre and if there're a lot of red herrings, plot twists and cliffhangers, this could be a win.

I just watched The Invitation last weekend and absolutely loved it! I thought it was very well made and acted, and suspenseful. It's on Netflix for anyone interested. It also dealt with a cult. Definitely propelled by the acting though, particularly from Logan Marshall-Green. Tammy was also good. I'm excited for this!
I think it will be a lot more stylized and stronger than Trespass. I'm thinking a Top of the Lake aesthetic, but who knows.

Jennifer's Body is also a guilty pleasure of mine. Although aeon Flux and Charlize I cannot stand.

Oh no more Hugh Jackman for me please. She should only work with the same actor once. I wouldn't mind her taking some time off if it meant she would never flop again, especially after this year. Quality over quantity all the way. Well to be fair, she has only filmed one supporting in 2017. And reviews seemed to imply that it could have been played by any actress. This looks like her most meatier role this year and where she would have a significant amount of screentime too.

The Invitation wasn't insanely amazing, but I thought it was effective for what it was, a good suspense/horror movie. It's something I would (and will) watch again. Though I feel the beginning was a bit day-time movie as a previous user stated, a bit generic (the beginning party scenes). But I thought the good outweighed the bad. I was like, screaming towards the end. And I think with Kidman on board, it could really work. I want it to be atmospheric! It might be a bit too sterile/California-ish to be as dark and gritty/weird as Top of the Lake, but I have hopes! And I secretly LOVE Jennifer's Body, too! Haha. One of my guilty pleasures.
