deadline.com/2022/06/nicole-kidman-zac-efron-joey-king-netflix-1235044848/Netflix has set an all-star ensemble for its new untitled romcom as sources tell Deadline Nicole Kidman, Zac Efron and Joey King are set to star in the pic, with Behind The Candelabra writer Richard LaGravenese directing. LaGravenese co-wrote the script with Carrie Solomon while Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum and Alyssa Altman producing for Roth/Kirschenbaum Films. The story is set following a surprising romance which kicks off comic consequences for a young woman, her mother and her movie star boss as they face the complications of love, sex, and identity. The film was recently greenlit and will shoot later this year.

I would love the idea of Nicole in a romantic comedy again, but not for this...
I can assume that she needs a break in these months and she was in search of something very soft.

Zac Efron adores Nicole so much that he’s determined to be her love interest again hahahah . I remember in 2012 he said working with Nicole was “one of the highlights of my life”.

Here I was. Secretly thinking 'oh this lull. all this wait. she MUST be getting ready for a Broadway show. May be prepping for the next Scorsese or Spielberg."
Well.

There are two scenario possibilities at the moment: the first is that after the Oscar nomination there was absolutely no offer or anything interesting at all, and this is the only decent and well-paid proposal she has received. The second is that she has just decided to loosen the grip and take several months off and then shoot something very light and a small role.
After all, we were all expecting a new project "because the other actresses are shooting interesting stuff" but Nicole doesn't necessarily have to do something.

I think this is going to be her 'dirty granpa', but with a more boring plot. So excited to pretend it doesn't exist...!

Hoping it's more Something's Gotta Give and less Whatever The Fudge This Director Has Made in The Past.

A comedy in the vein of The Big Sick would be great, but unfortunately I feel like this will be something similar to The Kissing Booth and the other discount comedies by Netflix.

Efron’s career is not in a very good place, Kidman coming off an Oscar nomination and the northman can afford to give comedy rom coms another shot.
It doesn't look encouraging but im glad she's doing something because Aquaman 2 is not enough for next year and I was getting nervous she's take alot of time off.
This project looks like a quick money shoot with Netflix. Nice change of pace, she hasn't been in a comedy since what, just go with it?

Do you think there is another role for Skarsgard in this one? I say let her really have fun.
