By stagey, I meant it didn't feel authentic. The characters felt like characters, not flesh and bone, not human, just archetypes.

I agree I couldn't get into Mrs America, five episodes in and non of the characters felt 3dimensional.
But glad you liked it Triflo maybe it picks up towards the end.

Sorry to read all these negative comments/likes. I guess I am the only one her who loved it:) That's fine. I think Phyllis Schlafly is multidimensional character really:) She's really a monster but also a victim of her fantasies/patriarchy. What really strucked me and truly preventing me from watching it:) was fear that creators/Cate will try to emphatize too much with Schalfly but they didn't. It was so well balanced:) Conclusion of the series was guite universal and bitter of course which was really lack of solidarity which made me really sad. I could talk for hours about Mrs. America and conclusions:) The other characters are more used as different attitudes/voices of feminism but also their personal struggles were truly touching. Maybe because of the "reportage" style You couldn't get into it which I perfectly understand.

So almost finished with "what we do in the shadows" which was so much fun... Moving to the next show, which was really hard to find, as I think the the older you get, the more you watch the more fussy you become... "Zero zero zero" silly title, but just finished the first episode, extremely intense, visually stunning, well crafted put together pilot episode. Definitely recommend 🥂

I've watched so much tv since I haven't been able to work since the middle of March. I finally watched Mad Men & The Sopranos, but in terms of newer stuff, I watched: Ozark Season 3 - Unbelievable! I'm a huge Laura Linney fan, having seen every screen performance she's given plus a few of her stage performances, and this is some of her best work. The show gets better and better. I watched season three twice through, I loved it so much. It's going to do very well at the Emmys. The Morning Show - Honestly, I kind of had to force myself to finish it. I had heard it got better throughout the season but I really didn't like it. The writing is awful. The Crown Season 3 - A step down from the first two seasons. I much prefer Foy and Kirby to Colman & HBC. But still a very well made drama.
I've watched a bunch of mini series' as well: Unorthodox (fantastic), Little Fires Everywhere (meh), Watchmen (incredible!), Mrs. America (really great, loooove this ensemble), and Normal People (really beautiful).
I'm watching The Great now.

I'm watching The Great now. Oh yes:) Ozark is getting and better. I also love Laura Linney. So many great scenes in Season 3 simply belongs to her. I sort of like both Reese shows even though both are flawed. Great to hear You enjoyed Mrs.America. First season of Homecoming was really outstanding. It should be "big" in terms of awards. Second season was definitely weaker but still great performances even without Julia Roberts. The Eddy was also very, very flawed. Watch it simply because of the music and Joanna Kulig. Season 3 of Killing Eve was meh but still incredibly acted by both Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer but Fiona Shaw simply stole the show. Plus, great sense of humour. I watched a lot series since March but truly great were: Mrs.America The Great Giri/Haji Fosse/Verdon Still waiting for Normal People and Stateless. Still not available in my country.

Normal People was fantastic. One of the best shows ever, really.
I fucking love Laura Linney. I've watched films like P.S., Jindabyne, The City of Your Final Destination , Sympathy for Delicious, and Hyde Park on Hudson because of her (and more famous ones obviously). I even watched the entire Tales of the City because of her, both original and reboot. But I just couldn't finish Ozark. I don't exactly know why, I've tried many times. It's not like it's a bad show. I can see it's most likely well-made but I just can't stomach the material somehow. I don't think it's because it's violent, I've never had a problem with violent TV shows or movies, but something just bugs me so much to the point I have to stop. Too bad, because I've heard so many great things about Linney's performance in it, especially in Season 3. I tried to watch Season 3 a few weeks ago without finishing previous seasons, but I still had to stop at Episode 2.

How far into it did you watch? Season two really shifts toward being about Linney & Julia Garner's characters a lot more, and for me it was a big improvement on the first season. And then season three just blew the other two out of the water. But that's great that you're such a fan of Laura's as well! She's magnificent.

I've seen about half of Season 1, none of Season 2, and two episodes of Season 3. Maybe I have a problem that I'm not aware of and Ozark pulls the trigger. It's really strange, I get really anxious and fearful whenever I try to watch it and these things literally never happened to me with any other TV show ever.

I wasn't really thrilled with first season. I kept watching it mainly because of Laura who I love. Also for Peter Mullan and Janet McTeer - great actors. Than I was simply amazed by Julie Garner and I stayed with the show. Just as brittany said it was wonderful to see how mediocre show is becoming better and better with both Laura Linney and Julie Garner slowly becoming lead and most interesting characters. I simply can't wait for Normal People. I've read the book and truly liked it.

During pandemic I've watched couple of movies from Pablo Larrain. I already saw El Club which is a small masterpiece and Jackie. Now I've watched Neruda, No (I am big Gael garcia Bernal fan), Post Mortem, Tony Manero and his latest absolutely wonderful movie Ema. Great director and storyteller. I am truly amazed by his works. Today it was announced he will be directing Kristen Stewart in movie about Lady Diana:) Quite surprising choice but still I will waiting for the movie. Other wonderful director I discovered is Eliza Hittman who made this year's Never Rarely Sometimes Always. I also cheched out her previous films like Beach Rats andIt felt like Love. Wonderful filmmaker, very raw movies with very clear, detailed and focused vision. ANother shining talent in filmmamking. Yesterday I went to cinema for the first time since the middle of March when cinemas were closed. Now they are opened again on small scale but I watched Babyteeth - australian movie. It was in competition in Venice last Year. Shannon Murphy directed it. Wonderful, very sensual and unpredictable movie. Absolutely loved it. Great characters and performances all around from Ben Mendelsohn, Toby wallace, Eliza Scanlen and Essie Davis (also big fan of hers) Stunning work. I could easily imagine Nicole in all these directors vision:) Of course:)
So, Nicole:) My recommendations for You: Pablo Larrain Eliza Hittman Shannon Murphy
Wonder what Nicole is watching during pandemic besides Little Fires Everywhere/American Son:) She could write about it.

So I started watching "never have I ever" on Netflix, recommended by Kidman, it's really fun, entertaining and I have to say refreshing to see a mainstream American teen show with not even one white leading character.

So adorable. And genuinely so earnest. I could so relate to the South Asian immigrant narrative.
