Hi guys! I know we have to stay down to earth, but if Being the Ricardos will be pushed to next year, we have NPS and maybe The Northman to discuss of anyway. Thought to create an new thread to study the 'rivals' of the next fresh award season. We have TV and maybe Motion Picture as every year I'm so excited for both projects. I'm sure we'll have a great satisfaction awards wise for NPS. Nicole as a Russian villain is something that I wait for too long.

I'm so excited about 9PS for reasons other than award prospects. I am curious what tone it takes - campy villain (eg Millicent in Paddington or To Die For) or a serious, conniving, evil turn. From reading the book, the cast it seems more comedic and that makes me think, it may not be THAT award-friendly. Just speculating and as always, keeping my fingers crossed.
I have such high hopes for The Northman though. I think Anya and Kidman would be vying for the Supporting Actress nod - if the film is really that good. Really really excited about it like most of you all.
I think BTR is still going to try to make it to the award race. Sorkin is very astute that way - he would want to ride the TC7 success-wave.
On a side note, Kate Winslet is already a lock-in for Best Actress (limited series) for The Mare of Easttown.

Yea, saw Winslet limited series, but she goes in leading. She will match with Nicole only if she score Emmy with the Undoing (I'm afraid it will be another BLL2 unfortunately. They tend to avoid products of the year before very often). Is confirmed she is a supporting character, no? With Mccarthy in leading?

Really as the mare of eastown released, havent heard anything about it.
as for the Northman, I have doubts, such doubts that a bloody viking revenge saga will click with academy voters but stranger things have happened.

The lighthouse really got close to be considered by the Academy... I think it got one nomination in cinematography. So who knows... But yes, not very academy friendly. If her part is juicy and she get some precursors... Why not

I think TN could be for Eggers what The Favourite was Lanthimos. The Lighthouse already got their attention with a Cinematography nod.

I still hope the Emmys will remember to squeeze a nom in for The Undoing, but I think it'll be forgotten by then (unless Kevin Zak continues with his 'Nicole/green coat' viral Insta posts till then ;P).
I have a feeling The Northman won't garner anything for Nicole - she just didn't seem to be on set long enough! I'm envisioning Anya & Alexander getting majority praise there (but I hope to be pleasantly surprised!)
I also hope for a positive reception for Nine Perfect Strangers, but I'm confused as to why we've seen or heard diddly-squat about it since it wrapped.. :/
Regardless of awards, I'm super excited for both The Northman and NPS, so it shall be a good year!

I'm a big supporter of Being the Ricardos in the upcoming awards season (as everyone knows) and I'm pretty sure Sorkin will have it come out this year (and that would be good, the next one will be even more fierce and with a lot more biopics).
On a nomination for The Northman I have some doubts, the role is shorter, and it will be more of a Skarsgard show, however who knows if she will win at festivals.
Nine Perfect Strangers will be the first chance to compete as a supporting for the television awards for Nicole, for me Globe and SAG will not miss, the Emmys have already disappointed us with The Undoing.

Do we know how long was she in PNS shooting? Or is her character in the book supporting?

Do we know how long was she in PNS shooting? Or is her character in the book supporting? I felt it was a co-lead situation as an antagonist to Melissa Mccarthy's protagonist. But who knows what David E Kelley and the co-authors did 😊

I was convinced by the opposite... I don't want Being the Ricardos is great received, Kidman get raves, amazing performance, and then she lost nomination or win because this year is a full packet of movie supposed to be released last year ('Blonde' on top). I just want it be released on the right time. Honestly De Armas, Stewart and Hudson scares me a lot. They seem to be three very likely nomination booked already. Stewart try to enter on the Oscar race for to long, with a movie by Larrain she should do that easily.

The Hours is the best movie about unhappiness and the most heartbreaking movie about life I ever seen. Kidman Virginia Woolf is just perfection. As the rest of the cast, music, direction and everything. Virginia Woolf herself would have loved that movie so much. The essence of all her literature. How it lost BP and Score is something I will never understand.
