Rooting for Emma, best female performance by far. Poor things is a delight. I want Nic to work with Yorgos again, please, please, please.
Lily is fine, good performance but nowhere as remarkable as Emma's. Greta deserves to be nominated. I hope she gets Margot's spot.

I saw Poor Things yesterday and I was really suprised. I thought and hoped that I would like this movie from Yorgos Lanthimos (like all his movies Greek and English ones), but when the movie finished I was so happy and pleasured with this movie. I thought that ''The Zone of Interests'' from Jonathan Glazer is the best movie that I saw this year, but after Poor Things it's my second one. Emma Stone was phenomenal and I hope she will win the Oscar (if not her it is Sandra Hüller). But also Marc Ruffalo, Willem Dafoe, Ramy Youssef and Hanna Schygulla (I was so glad to see her again) and all the other actors where at their best. This film deals with feminism, patriarchy, gender roles, what freedom means, the oppression of society and how it oppresses individuals.
The only thing I can write, watch the movie!

I have to be honest. I'm very happy that Margot Robbie wasn't nominated. This was until now a farce, like America Ferrera's nomination for her ''feminist'' monologue. The real ''Barbie'' is ''Poor Things''. I'm a little disappointed that Greta Lee didn't make it. But I haven't seen Annette Bening's portrayal and can't say whether her nomination is fair or not (but it's Bening, so I don't have huge problems). But I am very happy that Sandra Hüller is nominated and her performance is recognised.

I hope that Sandra Hüller can make it. Because ''Anatomy of a Fall'' is one of the best european films this year and one of the best the last years and many effords to the performances. I liked Barbie and Margot Robbie, but sorry, a oscar nomination for this role would be like Gwyneth Paltrow nomination for ''Shakespeare in Love''. Sandra Hüller and Greta Lee gave the best female performaces from the movies a saw since now. Lily Gladstone gave also a wonderful performance and I wouldn' matter if she will win the oscar (for emotional and political reasons). Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore were also good. The other performances I have to see. Gwyneth is so annoying (she's also my distant cousin!) but she's delicious in Shakespeare in Love! I also think Margot is bordering on delicious in Barbie but I wasn't crazy about that movie tbh. I wish KILLERS OF THE FLOWER LONG was told through Lily's character, it would have been so much more interesting and complex. I kept thinking about how interesting those scenes of her sick and dying in her room would have been if she were the focus of the film. Instead she was just lying there. I agree in 100%. Gwyneth is an absolute highlight in Shakespeare. Live that performance. Also, such a strong ensemble. To me... of course in a very festive manner - both Shakespeare and Moulin Rouge shows absolutely wild and beautiful way of falling in love:) I am so mad about Killers... I think Scorsese is incapable of making female a lead in his movies:) Alice with Ellen Burstyn looks like a last attempt. The Irishman (another 3 hour movie) the only important female role says one Word... this is Scorsese but this to much! Telling a story about abused women (in ANOTHER 3 hour movie) and making them supporting it's an absolute disgrace. I don't hate Gladstone and I am happy fot all the respects she's getting but not for this movie, this role and the size of it:) how can You tell woman's story and put her in supporting spot, make her dying for half the time she got? Sweating DiCaprio, manipulating De Niro instead? I MEAN:) I can't remember being THAT furious while watching a movie. Maestro in all the hatred was absolutely wonderful. I was skeptical about it nd I went to see it like: its Oscar bait, have to see it:) but I love Carey and I think she is the best actress of her generation. BUT I was absolutely stunned by it and Maestro is pure example when You treat female character with respect, love and giving full voice to the actress. Sorry but I truly loved it and I really wanted to hate it:) And yeah - I absolutely love Emma Stone (maybe even like Andrew Garfield:) She's my ultimate hetero female crush) but Carey is absolutely best actress of her generation and soooooo consistent. She was snubbed for Shame and She Said and I am so thrilled she's nominated for Maestro.

Glazer doesn't work often and he's very selective on his projects, maybe after another ten years?!

I hope she will attend at the Oscars (unfortunately she will be in Europe and shooting 9PS) and give Jonathan Glazer the Oscar and in 10 years they will work together in an other project. The same thing I hope with Lathimos and with Emma Stone together. Nicole need more of those directors in her working life.

Correct me if I'm wrong. For Emmys 2024, the eligibility period is January 1, 2023 - December 31, 2023, correct?
So for Expats, it'd be the 2025 Emmys, right?
