I love when Jason said Destroyer is one of Nicole's top three performances like a complete kidmaniac lol. I also got some indication that he wants to work with her, but I don't remember him ever praising her in the past.

No I was surprised too but I still think he is a talented director and would love a collaboration.

New Yorker Review, I'm at loss with this, linkApparently this nitwit just cant give her a straight compliment. His teeth are gritted to the point of shattering because he cant savagely pan her so he highlights her proficiency with guns. He also thinks he's very funny!

It had an abysmal Friday, but those screenings that Kidman personally attended helped push up Saturday's grosses. Don't think Annapurna will be encouraged to go wide but it's gotten Kidman qualified for the Academy Awards consideration.

Found the whole Q&A after one of the screening, let me tell you I would be so lucky to be sitting amongst such passionate people with their hearts exposed and raw for all to see.
Kidman is still very emotional and was brought to tears in some of her answers, Kusama is just wonderful, I hope they cant keep working together such genuine and warm chemistry between them.
Hollywood reporter's Scott Feinberg did an amazing job as the moderator.

The arclight (Hollywood LA) cinema twitter account replied to some some one enquiring about Kidman's next Destroyer Q&A, she has two more, specifically set for the weekend.

www.slashfilm.com/chris-evangelistas-top-10-movies-of-2018/Chris Evangelista’s Top 10 Movies of 2018 7. Destroyer Nicole Kidman raises hell – and goes through it, too – in Karyn Kusama‘s brutal post-modern noir Destroyer. Kidman is playing the kind of sloppy, drunk, violent cop that’s typically played by a male actor, and that might throw people off. But the results are stunning. Kusama is staging two films here: one is a violent crime drama about Kidman’s cop Erin Bell trying to track down a killer. The other, set in the past, finds a younger, less-haggard Bell infiltrating a gang along with an FBI agent (Sebastian Stan). These two stories catch up to each other in a surprising, clever way. In the midst of all this, Bell deals with the fallout of her personal life, primarily her reckless, wild teenage daughter (Jade Pettyjohn). What easily could’ve been a generic cop thriller is transformed – in the hands of Kusama, and screenwriters Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi – into an intense, emotional experience that leaves you shaken.

www.postandcourier.com/ap/entertainment/review-nicole-kidman-stars-as-a-hardened-la-cop-in/article_4ae502bd-8b2f-56b5-9c5a-8bfdbd14f4d9.htmlThe actress who famously donned a prosthetic nose for “The Hours” has here gone to greater and grittier lengths of transformation. Her eyes are sunken. Her skin is hardened. Her stare is provocatively hollow. She looks dead inside, and nearly so on the outside, too. Such metamorphoses have long been standbys of Oscar seasons both past (Charlize Theron in “Monster”) and present (Christian Bale in “Vice”). “Nearly” unrecognizable is the goal, not actually disappearing. The point isn’t to forget who you’re watching, it’s to impress upon you the masterful changeability of the actor beneath all the makeup and wig. Kidman’s performance may be overcooked but it’s rigorous and tough. Along with her supporting performance in “Aquaman,” Kidman is kicking some butt this December, and it’s thrilling to see her stretch in new directions. Her Los Angeles detective in “Destroyer” makes for an intriguing if overly bleak descendant of the Philip Marlowes who came before her.
