Indeed!^ And like Joan, Nicole was overlooked for an Oscar nom! I am loving the Birth love. I hope more and more people see what a truly powerful and astonishing film it is! I could watch it now! I think Birth has an amazing legacy, actually, epecially online where many think it's one of Nicole's finest moments. Humoresque on the other hand is one of the great many forgotten Crawford films which should make an argument for her being one of the greatest actresses of all time. With fans it does and is held pretty high. With the majority it has sadly been overlooked. Joan Crawford was one of the greatest actresses of the Golden Age and all time. I come across she was just a movie star comments online several times and it does annoy me. I mean Paid, A Woman's Face, Humoresque, The Damned Don't Cry, Rain, Autumn Leaves, The Story of Esther Costallo, Possessed (47) and Sudden Fear. Sudden Fear has to be some of the finest dramatic acting i have ever seen. You can really see her silent film days in her facial expressions and acting. Of course Mildred Pierce! Even some of the silents like The Unknown and Our Dancing Daughters Joan is superb. The Women and Susan and God, she was good at comedy! Not her strongest field but she gave good performances. Baby Jane she was subtle and deserved an Oscar nom herself, same with A Woman's Face and Humoresque. Even Strait Jacket her acting is phenomenal. Still i am glad some film historians give Crawford lot's of praise and she still has fans following her career and new fans i've noticed since Feud.

and Birth lost to To Die For, but runner up is mighty impressive for a film that is at 38% on rottentomatoes.

I thought i'd give ''Birth'' a bump! I'm watching this one tonight in honour of Nicole's birthday. I haven't watched it for a while, a while for me is 6 months! Perfect time for me as well to share about it on my social media (again!) and get some others interested! Probably about 2 or 3, but that's okay. Without a doubt still my favourite performance from Nicole.
Anyone else having a Nicole marathon? I mean of course i always watch her work, but near the birthday i don't watch something for as long as i possibly can so i can enjoy it more!

I'm marathoning Kidman this weekend. I'm also including Birth along with Margot at the wedding and Stoker. I'll finish it up with How to Talk to Girls at Parties.

I went with Margot at the Wedding, Strangerland and of course Birth! I must have been having a thing for brunette Nicole!

I'm marathon-ing to celebrate Nicole's birthday this weekend too! We'll be listening to the Moulin Rouge! soundtrack and Big Little Lies soundtrack on vinyl, and watching both MR! and BLL too! I'd definitely be watching Birth as well if it was just my choice though!

This tweet popped up a week ago about how underrated Birth (duh, we've know of this fact for ages), anyways I find it fascinating how at different points in time there seems to be small bursts of respect and awe for the film.
A host of responses popped up to the tweet but I was surprised to see Elijah Wood randomly responding and praising the film.
Please WB give us a high definition version of this master piece.

I need Criterion to release this in Blu Ray! I sent them a suggestion a few years ago and they politely responded to it saying they would think about it.

It might end up in HBO Max (since New Line merged with Warner Media). What a masterpiece.

It still blows my goddamn mind that the audience scores on Birth on RT and Metacritic are so low...!!!!!!! It is a certified MASTERPIECE.
